What to Pack for Your Cat’s Stay

Planning a holiday or time away from home? While you get your suitcase ready, don’t forget to pack the purr-fect essentials for your cat’s stay too! At Purr-Central, we make sure every feline guest is pampered and comfortable—but bringing a few familiar things from home can help make the experience even more relaxing for your cat.

Here’s a handy guide on what to pack:

✅ 1. Vaccination Certificate

Your cat must be up-to-date with their F3 vaccination, and we’ll need a copy of the certificate before or at check-in. This helps keep all our guests safe and healthy.

🧺 2. Favourite Blanket or Bed

Cats love familiar scents. Bringing your cat’s favourite blanket, small bed, or soft item from home gives them a sense of security and can help them settle in more quickly.

🧸 3. Toys or Comfort Items

A toy they like to chase, a scratching pad, or even something with your scent can be a great comfort. Keep it simple - just one or two small items will do.

🍽️ 4. Their Regular Food

While we provide a wide variety of food, we know some cats are on very special diets. Contact our reception to see if we stock your cat’s normal diet. If we don’t, feel free to pack enough of their usual food (plus a little extra) and let us know their feeding routine.

💊 5. Medications or Supplements

If your cat needs medication, please provide clear written instructions and enough supply for their stay. We’re experienced with administering a wide range of treatments.

📝 6. Feeding & Care Instructions

Every cat is different! Let us know about any preferences, quirks, allergies, or routines your cat is used to - we tailor our care to match their needs.

🧘‍♀️ 7. Optional Calming Aids

If your cat is prone to stress, a Feliway spray, calming collar, or vet-approved supplement can help them feel more at ease in a new environment. We run Feliway throughout the cattery and spray new arrivals bedding prior to check-in, but it is always a good idea to use the spray for the cat carrier to make the transport less stressful.

🐾 Bonus Tip: Less is More

There’s no need to overpack - our rooms are fully equipped with high-quality luxury bedding, toys, scratchers, and care. A few familiar items go a long way toward helping your cat feel right at home.
